Flu/Cold Symptoms You Should Never Ignore

Flu and cold season are in full swing, and there are just some symptoms that should never be ignored, especially when occurring in children. It is important to know what these symptoms are not only for your safety but for the safety of your loved ones or those you are caring for. 

When to Seek Medical Attention:

1. High Fever
Typically ranging between 103℉ - 104+℉. However, in infants 3 months old or younger a rectal temperature of 100.4℉ or higher should be assessed by a medical professional immediately.

2. Breathing Difficulty
Changes in color (turning blue) can is a sign of hypoxia (low oxygen) and can be associated with complications of lung function.    

3. Intractable Vomiting & Diarrhea
Continuous vomiting and/or diarrhea or not being able to keep any food or liquid down. This can also lead to dehydration.

4. Severe Pain
Whether that be severe muscle pain, a severe headache, or a stiff neck.

5. Others
Drowsiness, difficulty waking, sensitivity to lights, confusion, or seizures.
