Prescriptive Authority Battle in CT

Battle in CT

Help improve healthcare in Connecticut by supporting prescriptive rights for naturopathic physicians. Over the past several years, Licensed Naturopathic Doctors in CT have been working hard to get prescriptive authority. This year we are closer than ever before.

For nearly 100 years, Connecticut has supported diversity in healthcare by licensing naturopathic physicians. Unfortunately, the laws surrounding naturopathic medicine do not reflect the education and training that modern naturopathic doctors (NDs) receive, and severely limit the type of care these physicians can offer to their patients.⁣

Many people believe naturopathic physicians only learn how to use natural medicine, but this is far from the truth. We get extensive training in the use of pharmaceuticals; we even have a separate boards examination just for pharmacology. We are trained to identify when medication is essential, when a patient is overmedicated, and what combination of natural therapies and medications work best.

Here at Healing Duo Integrative Family Medical Practice we fully believe in an integrative medicine approach. That is, the use of both natural and prescriptive medication. After all our ultimate goal is to get you back to your best self: pain free, disease free, stress free.

How you can help. If you are a Connecticut resident or work in Connecticut, we ask you to contact your local legislators to encourage their support for prescriptive authority. This can be done by visiting http://www.congressweb.com/aanp/71/ . Take action now!

We thank you for your support. Please feel free to contact us at (203) 693-1429 or contactus@thehealingduo.com if you need further guidance or have any questions. Feel free to share our cause on your social media outlets, too!⁣
