Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions Naturopathic Doctors Get About Solving Health Concerns

How does Healing Duo Integrative Family Medical Practice approach health and wellness differently?

Your health and well-being are our top priorities. We believe that every question deserves an answer and every concern merits attention. Whether you’re seeking more information about our services, have questions about your wellness journey, or need assistance scheduling an appointment, our dedicated team is here to support you.

Can you assist with my specific health concerns?

Absolutely. Our team is experienced in addressing a broad spectrum of health issues with a personalized touch and always focus on treating the underlying cause of disease. We consider your unique health history and collaborate to create a pathway that leads to effective, natural solutions and optimized health.

We care for patients from newborns to adulthood. Our physicians are trained to handle various conditions, from minor infirmities to major chronic illnesses. Ultimately, our physicians focus on treating the whole person, not just lab results or an afflicted body part. You are a whole person and not merely a medical condition.

Do i Still need a primary care provider (PCP) or Pediatrician?

Yes, absolutely. All patients of Healing Duo Integrative Family Medical Practice are required to maintain an active relationship with a Primary Care Physician (PCP) or General Practitioner (GP). Your PCP is essential for providing services that fall outside of our scope, including:

  • Access to life-saving medications and management of acute or chronic conditions requiring conventional treatment.
  • Routine preventative care, such as annual physicals, immunizations, and standard screening procedures.
  • Immediate care for acute conditions or procedures that require an in-office visit (e.g., sutures, urgent bloodwork, etc.).

How will my visits be conducted moving forward?

Moving forward, Healing Duo Integrative Family Medical Practice will focus our visits on specialty integrative care delivered primarily via telehealth. This approach allows us to serve you more efficiently and focus our expertise on deep-dive diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and personalized treatment plans without the geographical limitations of in-office visits.

Will you be able to address emergency or urgent medical needs?

No. As a specialty telehealth practice, we are not equipped to handle medical emergencies. If you experience a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Room. For urgent but non-emergency medical issues, you must contact your PCP or an Urgent Care facility.

What insurance plans do you accept, and how can I manage costs?

Effective January 1st 2026

Healing Duo Integrative Family Medical Practice and it's physicians will be out of network with all insurance companies.

What makes a Naturopathic Physician (ND) at The Healing Duo unique?

Simply put, naturopathic physicians (NDs) are experts in natural medicine.

Our NDs are not just healthcare providers but educators and advocates for your health. Licensed in Connecticut, they utilize natural therapies backed by scientific evidence and centuries of traditional wisdom to activate your body's inherent healing abilities. They aim to empower you with knowledge and care that transcends conventional treatment.

Why should I consult with a Naturopathic Physician for supplements and herbs?

Navigating the world of supplements and herbs requires expertise. Our Naturopathic Physicians have extensive training in botanical medicine and nutritional biochemistry, ensuring that any natural therapy recommended is safe, effective, and tailored to your needs.

Self-prescribing can be risky; professional guidance is vital to safe, natural health care.

Will I need to stop my prescription medications if I start naturopathic treatments?

No, you do not have to stop your prescription medications. Our integrative approach may complement or enhance your current treatment plan and, in some cases, may lead to a reduced dependence on certain pharmaceuticals. However, any changes to medication should be done under the supervision of our Naturopathic Physicians in coordination with your primary care provider. Above all, we want you to reach your health goals safely. We believe an integrated and collaborative approach is ideal when prescription medication is concerned.

 Are naturopathic treatments evidence-based?

Yes. We prioritize treatments with a solid foundation in scientific research, complemented by a long history of traditional and clinical application. Our physicians stay updated with the latest medical literature to ensure that your care is both cutting-edge and time-honored.
